We had all been hoping that the recent conflict might open Iran’s doors. That we might finally be able to go in freely, train openly, visit the nearly 4,000 churches in our network face to face. That dream is on hold. The deal that ended the war left a regime in place that, by most accounts, is more repressive than the one that started it.

The Iranian believers already knew. From week one of the war, they were telling us: we’re going to get nothing out of this. They were right. And they are not crushed by it, because they never put their hope in geopolitics. They put it in Jesus.

So the plan does not change. Our four clandestine training centres in the region remain open. The underground church, the world’s fastest-growing church, keeps growing. We keep showing up in the ways we can, from the outside, until God opens a door we can walk through.

We are people of hope. There is always Good Friday before Easter Sunday. We keep walking.

🙏 Pray: For the Iranian believers under increased repression. For the four training centres and the leaders risking everything to keep them running. For a door to open in God’s timing.
